Life on the Mountain
The slopes of Mummy Mountain are full of boulders, crevices, and native plants. Those features are home to bark scorpions, desert spiders, pack rats, and other wildlife, and many of them do not recognize a property line.
Hillside homes often have retaining walls, terraced landscaping, and drainage channels cut into the rock. Each of those creates gaps and shaded spots where pests can rest during the day before heading toward the house at night.
Mummy Mountain Park pest control starts with understanding that terrain. We look at which walls face the open mountain, where runoff flows during storms, and where rock touches stucco.
Seeing Scorpions in a New Light
Bark scorpions glow under ultraviolet light. Our Black Light Scorpion Service brings a technician out after dark to find and remove active scorpions around your home, from the patio to the retaining walls.
That night visit also tells us where scorpions are concentrated, which helps us fine-tune your regular treatments. Many hillside homeowners find it eye-opening.
- Retaining walls and terraced beds
- Boulders and rock outcrops near the house
- Patio edges and pool decks
- Garage door gaps where the slab slopes
Rodents From the Rocks
Pack rats build nests among rocks and cactus and sometimes move into garages, attics, or engine compartments. We inspect for nesting signs and entry points and set up control where it is needed. Everything we use on the mountain lots is chosen to be gentle on pets and the surrounding desert.
Pack rats will also chew vehicle wiring when cars sit in the garage for a while, so homeowners who travel seasonally should mention it. We will check the garage closely before and after long trips away.
Same or next-day service is available when you discover a new nest or a scorpion in the house.

Will regular treatments stop every scorpion?
On a mountainside, nobody can promise zero scorpions. Steady treatments greatly reduce activity, and if they show up between visits, we come back and re-treat for free.
When are scorpions most active?
They are most active during warm months, especially on hot summer nights and around monsoon storms. Spring and summer are great times for a black light visit.
