Desert Foothills Bring Scorpions Close
Homes near natural desert see more bark scorpions than many other parts of the Valley. They hide in rock, under debris, and inside block walls, then slip through tiny gaps under doors and around plumbing.
Our Black Light Scorpion Service goes after them at night, when they are active and glow under UV light. Paired with regular perimeter treatment, it is one of the best ways to cut down numbers.
It also helps to keep rock and debris pulled back from the walls and to replace worn door sweeps. Those small fixes close off many of the routes scorpions use to get in.
Water Features and Mosquitoes
Lakes, ponds, and community irrigation bring welcome green to the area. They also give mosquitoes places to breed, especially during warm, humid stretches.
We treat shaded resting spots around your yard so you can enjoy the evening without swatting.
Help us out by dumping standing water from planters, buckets, and toys after storms or irrigation runs. Even a bottle cap of water can hatch mosquitoes in warm weather.
Rodents From Open Land
Pack rats and mice move in from the desert edge, nesting in dense plants, garages, and vehicle engine bays. We find their entry points and help seal them up.
Keep vehicles that sit for long stretches checked, and store pet food and bird seed in sealed bins. Those are easy food sources that draw rodents in from the hillside.
Trimming plants back from walls and clearing brush piles near the yard edge also takes away cover that pack rats rely on.

Is Estrella Mountain Ranch Pest Control different from regular service?
Our approach adjusts to the foothills setting, so we place extra focus on scorpions and rodents coming in from open desert. You still get the same honest pricing starting starting at $45 per month.
What is a black light scorpion service?
Scorpions glow under UV light. Our technicians search your property after dark to find and remove them directly. Many homeowners find it eye opening to see how many were hiding in the yard.
Do you re-treat if scorpions come back?
Yes. If pests return between scheduled visits, we re-treat at no extra charge. We would rather come back than have you living with pests until the next scheduled visit.
