Rodents Along the Fairway
Golf course edges often have thick landscaping, shrubs, and trees that give rodents cover. Mice and roof rats move along walls and fences at night, looking for food and a warm place to nest.
When temperatures dip in fall and winter, rodents become more interested in garages and attics. We look for signs like droppings, nesting material, and chewed weatherstripping, then focus on stopping them before they settle in.
We also check the spots where rodents find food: bird feeders, fallen citrus, and pet food stored in the garage. Removing easy meals makes control work faster.
If you hear scratching in the walls or attic at night, do not wait. Rodents breed quickly, and early action keeps a small issue from becoming a bigger one.
Fruit, birdseed, and pet food left out overnight are some of the biggest draws, so a little tidying in the evening goes a long way.
Cricket Season
Late summer brings crickets in large numbers, especially near irrigated turf. They chirp all night, slip under garage doors, and attract scorpions. Treating the beds, edges, and lights where crickets gather helps cut the noise and the scorpions.
Keeping garage doors closed in the evening and switching to warm-colored bulbs also helps keep crickets from wandering in.
Keep in mind that late summer storms can make cricket numbers jump almost overnight.

Where do mice sneak into a garage near the course?
Often through gaps at the bottom corners of the garage door, worn weatherstripping, or openings around pipes. We inspect these areas and recommend repairs.
Are crickets dangerous?
Not to people, but they attract scorpions and spiders, and they can chew on fabric and paper. Reducing crickets is an important part of scorpion control.
