The Cricket and Scorpion Connection
If you have ever stepped outside on a summer night and heard a chorus of crickets, you already know how many can gather around a home. Crickets love damp soil and bright lights. Scorpions love crickets.
Cutting down the cricket population around your home is one of the best things you can do to reduce scorpions. We treat the places crickets hide, like rock beds, irrigation zones, and the base of block walls, then follow up with scorpion work along entry points.
Crickets are a nuisance on their own, too. They chirp all night from inside walls and garages, and large numbers can leave a musty smell behind.
Simple Tips That Help Between Visits
Treatment works best when the yard is not working against it. A few small habits make a big difference, and none of them take more than a weekend afternoon.
- Switch porch and garage lights to warm or yellow bulbs
- Keep rock pulled back a few inches from the foundation
- Fix leaky drip emitters and soggy spots
- Store pet food in sealed bins in the garage
Cobblestone Farms Pest Control With No Shortcuts
Every visit includes a full exterior perimeter treatment and a check of the garage and entry doors. We apply products with care so they are safe for kids and pets once dry. If anything shows up between visits, we come back at no charge.
Our technicians are not working off a stopwatch. They have the time to look under the pool equipment, along the side yard, and behind the trash cans, which is often exactly where the trouble is hiding.

Why are there so many crickets near my garage?
Crickets are drawn to light and moisture, and garages often have both. Changing the bulbs and treating the garage perimeter usually cuts their numbers fast. Sealing gaps at the bottom of the garage door helps keep the ones that remain from wandering inside.
Do you offer night scorpion hunting?
Yes. Our Black Light Scorpion Service goes out after dark, when scorpions glow under UV light, so we can find and remove them directly.
How often will you service my home?
Our standard plan is bi-monthly, which starts starting at $45 a month for homes up to 2,500 square feet. Larger homes cost slightly more, and every plan includes free re-treatments between visits.
